When I worked at the University of Florida in the Biochemistry Department, one of the labs had fresh lobsters flown in for their research then they ate them. No chemicals added I guess. Is it ethical to experiment on lobsters and then reward them for their generous participation in experiments to benefit they were served to hungry researchers. Is it ethical to experiment on lobsters and then devour them?

probably not
I think it depends how they were served. A lobster bisque is generally more ethical than a lobster roll.
